Our good friends Dirty Rocks also made their rousing debut even after one of the dirty rockers thought the gig was at the Racks in Manchester (oops). Thanks to Randy for the use of his electronic drum set, however, we'll have to dial down the self-triggering cowbell next time (never thought someone would have to say that about cowbell). The Stone Temple Posers will be around before their appearance for meet and greet opportunities and autographs. The band thanks Scott for all of the effort he has put in to help get the band off the ground. We hope to find a frontman of equal caliber in the near future. Once we do, we will be ripping up STP tunes shortly thereafter. Colossal Blackout started things off with some shredding 90s music including a few Metallica classics. Scott was an unlucky dog cuz he found out minutes before we were to go on that his truck had been towed (thanks Pat's). After retrieving his truck with Erick Godin's help, he ran 4 blocks and jumped on stage without missing a beat; give this man some oxygen! Anyway, we had a great time performing our set without further incident. Thanks to Craig and Debbie who drove up from CT for the show (unfortunately also victims of Pat's), Bob, and all the new fans we met. Second Hand Smoke lit up the place after us with an endless slew of Sublime grooves. We know some people took videos; we plan to share them when we get 'em. Audio and photos from the show will also be uploaded soon. Thank you Erick for opening your doors to us and allowing us to play with SHS again. We hope to return to the Dog some time in the future. These guys krank out some awesome grooves: Ant driving the beat, Josh adding the scratch track, Mike with the irie guitar, Jamie dropping the low notes and Rob on vocals. Thanks also to Andrew, Dave (get that AIC trib going already), Rene, Audra (shhh, we wont tell Tami you went to Eddies), Julio, Tammy, Holly, and Saundra for hanging out and throwing back a few with the band. Thanks always to the wives/sig others for putting up with the rock and roll lifestyle. We hope to get some video, photos, and audio from this past weekend posted soon. We'll be in Worcester on May 16 at the Lucky Dog with Second Hand Smoke if you missed us this past weekend. We had a great time and would like to thank Scott's racquetball warriors for showing their support. Made some new friends, most notably the band Faraday Heat (I'm sure I didn't get the name right) who were nice enough to offer the use of their drum kit; Jack's kids rock!. Got to see some emerging comics and musicians. Dave was an awesome host; Greg ran awesome sound, and of course Abby kept the libations flowing. We hope to be back sometime soon. This will be a free show. They have some great brews on tap. We anticipate we will start between 8:30 and 9:00PM, but after the third 8% IPA, who is keeping track of time? Thanks go out to Dave, Phil and the rest of the Thursday night regulars for their warm hospitality. Fueled with Rhonda's awesome cocktails, we managed to not destroy too much of the stage and equipment. Audio highlights from the night are on our Audio page...have a listen. You may not have noticed, but we also streamlined our website URL (we are now just http://stonetempleposers.com, a little easier to remember). Barring sickness or a major catastrophe, we are planning a short set of songs at Racks in Plaistow this Thursday. We will be playing songs from STP's third release Tiny Music...Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop to celebrate the release of this album 19 years ago this Thursday...does anybody know how the story really goes, or do we all just hum along? Cozy little night club in downtown Haverhill. We lucked out with some nearby parking for unloading. Got a good response from the crowd including Kim and her clan. Hope to be back someday. Bob did an excellent job mixing sound. Tyler is the man keeping thirst at bay. Also playing last night was Kerrin (hope I spelt it correctly) who wowed on the keys. As a former compatriot once said: "One Down".
